Drinks at the pool after breakfast were $100, lunch was $200, dinner looks to be about $600. That works out to $900 while the all inclusive would cost us about $1025. Still lots of money but that extra $125 is worth not worrying about the drinks and being able to eat at any of the restaurants.
Just be ready to spend $$$ on food here as you are a captive audience and they know it.
$600 for dinner? You seem to be really over-exaggerating. Unless you're eating at Casa Amate every night and drinking A TON. Not to mention kids 5 and under eat free and kids up to 12 years old are half price. Yes, it's a somewhat pricey resort, but there is no way the all inclusive option is ever a good deal unless you drink a whole lot of alcohol.
