But if going overseas, might be worth checking what might be required, not just the UM thing, but country admission requirements, showing that parents agree, etc. We did send our kids t Europe once, but that was a looong time ago. (Our kids flew from SFO to Europe back when she was 12 and her brother, 9. Not UM, but still the airline took care of them and there was a connection. But then flying was still something else... And more pricey. Connection would no longer be allowed under UM at least with AC, I believe.)

BTW, I suspect our nearly 13 granddaughter would be offended if her parents insisted in sending her as UM. :-). Would love the adventure.
