Hi everybody,

I have just booked a flight from LAX to SIN and back:

1. LAX-SFO-SIN
2. SIN-HKG-NRT-LAX.

In HKG I have a layover of 23 hours (I want it like this).
Now I requested an upgrade (SWU) for both ways.
I thought 2 would be fine because there is no stop (stop>24h).
But they reserved 3!

1. LAX-SFO-SIN
2. SIN-HKG
3. HKG-NRT-LAX

I called UA in Germany and they told me that they have no idea if a stopover means break longer than 24h or date change. So they will check it. I think I won't hear anything from them at all. Unfortunately the SIN HKG segment is the only that cleared instantly! For that lousy little 3h flight one SWU .

What do you think what a stop over is?
