I've been quite a passive miles collector; book the cheapest ticket and see what miles arrive in my account. Now I am realising that I will need to figure out if the 24k + 4 A3 segments is doable and can't quite figure out how to check airlines/ticket classes while booking.
Is it realistic to book a CPT - EUROPE then the 4x A3 Segment, then EUROPE to TPE and back to CPT and earn 24k flying economy? Just trying to figure out how hard to push for it. Thanks for any advice...
CPT-ADD-ATH on Ethiotian is surely your best economy class mile-earning option from SA to Greece - all economy fares earn at least 100% miles. On the return from Asia you could position cheaply TPE-HKG or BKK and then take ET home again. That's 8200 miles total.
For Europe to Asia, look at TK business class. They often have reasonably cheap C class fares for around 1300 Euro each way with 150% miles. Their cheap Economy fares often only earn zero or 25%. So ATH-IST-HKG would earn 7992 miles.
For your 4 A3 flights, be sure to choose at least S fare-bucket in Flex for minimum 800 miles.
So CPT-ADD -ATH-xxx-xxx-xxx-ATH-IST-TPE-HKG-ADD-CPT would earn around 19,000 miles.
If you don't mind some backtracking make your long haul flights via more far-flung places in Europe (and gain 2 A3 segments into the bargain)
ET CPT-ADD-ARN 6897 miles
A3 ARN-ATH 1524 miles
A3 ATH-xxx-ATH 1600 miles
A3 ATH-LIS 1788 miles
TK (C) LIS-IST-HKG 10476 miles
ET HKG-ADD-CPT 8281 miles
30566 miles and 4 A3 sectors
ARN and LIS can be substituted for place you maybe would like to visit or wherever TK have cheap business class offers.
