As I suspected, it is EWR which is a problem, not United. No Star Alliance flights are presently bookable by Turkish Miles&Smiles as their search engine does not recognize EWR routes as valid. We need to keep reporting this issue to TK with hopes that it will get fixed. Otherwise, good luck in using EWR as an airport on any TK *Alliance booking.
