Aeroplan 2.0, and this type of aggressive points-selling activity, has only been around since November 2020. Not sure that's enough to establish any real pattern. But all of these points sales have the same format of title ("Aeroplan selling points with up to x% bonus (mmmm YYYY)"), you could easily do a forum search and decide for yourself whether you think there's likely to be a better offer soon.
