I don’t pay a 100% premium or anything like, so where that comes from I have no idea and am not that interested. However after a 600 mile flight on AS where this was offered

This rejoices in the name of a “Protein Plate” I believe (God help us). I had a fatter and slightly wider seat it is true, but as thankfully I am neither fat nor wide myself and have normal length legs and feet, I fit into most seats.

Since this is as good as it is going to get in Europe, I just accept that it is what it is and that I am fortunate enough to afford to be there. Pathetic or otherwise, my BA flight to Madrid next week has 12 rows of Business. Clearly this is acceptable to others as well. It is far from perfect, but I’d rather BA muddling than the snotty Señorita Iberia provided on the flight to the UK. That however is for another thread in another day
Agreed that we have to “accept” what is offered but it doesn’t mean we have to forgive. Also agreed that the comparison between European biz class vs non European has been overdone. However, in terms of the value proposition, it is fair to look at what is offered. BA offers only 50% more space. I don’t know what fares others see but I did a sample of the cheapest mid Sept midweek 7 day returns to NCL GVA and IST and each was well over double (and IST was treble) the economy fare. That’s one expensive meal - which is fine but not if it’s only half delivered.

You may not like the food on AS, and I don’t particularly, but you do get significantly more legroom as well as 50% more width. And, in my experience, the tickets are usually not double the economy fares. So the value proposition is clearer.
