If you feel safe in SF, then by all means go for it. I do not feel safe in SF at all anymore - I'm well travelled and consider the danger level similar to Cape Town. I have cancelled a week stay in SF w my kid and split time instead between Boston and NY

Unfortunately too many Americans have gotten accustomed to crime and verbal harassment and think it is normal behavior to have to leave a car's door unlocked and trunk open so criminals can see nothing is inside.

When dealing with drugged out mentally ill, they might attack because who knows what they are thinking
