The other points that often gets raised here are:
1) Not all aircraft have a 1D and 1F seats, the G-GAT fleet, so if you select those seats at 3 days to departure you may find yourself moved to other seats. On those same aircraft 1A and 1C have heaps of leg and knee room since there is no bulkhead, but you do face into the cabin crew during take off and landing.
2) 1C (in particular) and 1D are prone to occasional whacks from poorly controlled baggage, back packs in particular as other passengers board. I say "occasional" in that I've certainly seen it happen, but some forumites report that it happens to them so frequently that they select other seats. One's Mileage May Vary. Similar to this is getting a blow on the legs from passengers / trolleys.
3) Row 2 and beyond have underseat storage, including the empty middle seat in CE. Most seats have some way to clip your phone or tablet into the headrest or table areas for watching video entertainment.
4) Aerolopa will give you a good grasp of window alignment if you are on a scenic route such as to Italy or Greek islands or Scotland. The windows are always there, some rows have the window just in perfect alignment.
5) If you are a picky eater, depending on route/time of day, you may not have a choice of meal the further from the front that you are. Drinks are much less problematic.
