Might be interesting, but Marriott still assigns category to hotels by viewing Page Source on the rooms listing rate. May need to refresh on the rooms listing page after you're on it the first time. Giving Ritz Fukuoka as an example as it's a new hotel that just opened a couple weeks ago. You can still predict the points you need to book a hotel this way. Cat 7's max from my observation is 85k/night. Cat 9 also shows up in some hotels, but it's more varied than what's shown for Cat 1-8.
