Well you have a different flight so weather has nothing to do with you and it isnt your fault flight 1600 isnt there.
This is actually an excellent point of view... there is ALWAYS some weather SOMEWHERE, so a carrier can frequently blame delays and cancellations on weather, or even ATC. But lest we forget, there HAS been a lot of weather lately, from heavy snows in the upper mid-west to the Gulf coast, lines of bright red thunderstorms in the ATL area. Thankfully, neither DL nor the other carriers feel the temptation to fly through this weather and endanger US!
If any harm had befallen a DL aircraft whilst attempting to operate through this weather, we'd be severely critical... DL can control international upgrades at the gate and other issues of vital importance, but they cannot control the weather.
