That's not new
. Always been there. In fact it used to be (much) longer.
The points should show the transaction date as per the original flight dates, so should post into the previous year, even if they post after the 8th. If the system doesn't automatially set you to Silver, you will need to contact BA Exec Club and they will manually adjust.
