My beef cheeks from yesterday's BA 801 KEF-LHR. Would not order again and did not eat as anything that didn't have veins in was gristly and tough
The starter had nuts (pickled walnuts) so was also ruled out, ditto the packet of nuts thrown onto my table after I told the crew I was allergic to nuts.
The butter had been placed underneath the hot plate of beef so was liquid.
I was also allergic to the dessert but as that's not a common allergy (cherries) I'm not as concerned about that as I am about the unnecessary choice of nuts in the only starter available and the only snack served with drinks.
I wasn't given crackers with my cheese. Didn't notice the lack until my companion helpfully donated his cheese + cracker course to me so I didn't go hungry. Strangely, he wasn't given butter.
Couldn't drink alcohol (my choice as was driving at the other end) so couldn't be compensated with multiple drinks like another article posted here recently
I'd made a bacon roll in the lounge and brought it on board, in case of disasters, but I must admit I wasn't expecting the food on board to be SO bad and so thoughtlessly chosen and presented.
eta, when I alerted the crew to my nut allergy I was asked "why didn't you order a special meal"? I'm not sure if they thought I was stupid enough to accept their blame for not choosing a nut-free menu, or if they don't understand how pre-ordering works with regards to allergies.
