So would I not get the EQN for that night that I paid for even if I left at 8 p.m.? I believe I would and the same should be for a points stay.

Also, like I said, I've done this several times in the past to guarantee us checkout as late as 10 or 11 p.m. and was always given the EQN for that last night even though we didn't sleep there.
