Not sure where to ask this and I'm loathe to start a new thread so I hope I can get an answer by posting here.
I applied 5 SNAs for a Sunday to Friday stay 2 weeks ago. They were rejected and returned (as expected). The 5 night stay was booked on points.
At check in I asked for complimentary upgrade for being Platinum member. I was told that they didn't have anything available for that night (and checking the app showed it was true) but from the following night I can be upgraded to an Executive Suite. The next day when I went to arrange the room switch I was offered a further upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite for just $200 per night. Being that I was with my family and would very much enjoy the additional space I accepted this offer. My question is, does this $200 I paid per night qualify for earning Marriott points? I did not get any points even though I was sure I would.
Another question I have which does not pertain to the upgrade is as follows: I booked 5 nights with points which as we know is the same rate as 4 nights, and I did it in order to guarantee us late checkout. I was expecting to be credited 5 nights, but I only got 4. I have done this many times in the past to get late check out without any pressure and have always gotten 5 nights credited even if I checked out the night before. Who do I turn to for the missing 1 night credit which I feel I should have gotten?
