A friend was on ua 55 cdg ewr today. Departed an hour late due to late arriving inbound from EWR. They landed about an hour plus late then waited almost 2 hours on ground for gate. Pilot got on intercom at one point and announced " the only update I have for you is that Newark is a hot mess!"

When they finally got to gate, nobody to meet aircraft, then the
jet bridge didn't work. None of that was weather....
