Eventually the flight was cancelled, and we got rebooked on b6 following day. I'm having hard time claiming UK261 BA keeps insisting on bad weather and thunderstorms. Should I just give up?
Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA forum.

We try to keep this thread for information about flight delays (and many thanks for your insights about this cancellation), and we have a separate thread for EC261 queries:

I suspect this would have to go to the arbitrators, CEDR, because I think BA are going to hold on to the weather line. In reality it should be possible to operate aircraft when it is raining, and I suspect that BA didn't use all reasonable measures to keep to time. Or deploy another aircraft. But the thread above gives more guidance about this and how to proceed. So ask BA to confirm their answer won't change, and then go to CEDR.
