​​​​I have heard the same excuses from the Sofitel's, Novotel's, and Mercure's whenever I've tried to use them. Some of the hotels have never even seen one of these vouchers before and seem very confused. I had one lucky stay in AU where they decided to just comp a room upgrade because it seemed easier for them than having to figure out how these upgrades work.

​​​​​​Are these upgrades really a benefit, I've never been able to successfully redeem one after my 8 years of Air NZ Gold or Elite!
