Thanks for all the helpful replies. Current plan is to fly to AKL the day before, pay to store my wife’s ridiculously heavy checked bag at the luggage storage kiosk so we are not carting that thing around, burn some Hyatt points at the PH Auckland, and do a little sightseeing around Auckland.
