I also observed that people in Asia who don't want to put up with conformity requirements and/or pier pressure from family/friends/relatives/society try to leave their own country on the first opportunity and happily live after somewhere else. Those who stay usually don't have a happy life.

Comes to mind the scent of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson when Watson discovered that Holmes did not know how many planets were in the solar system. On his shock, Holmes explains that the brain has limited capacity and he only keeps the information needed for his daily life and work. A similar scene is played in Pixar's 'Inside out' when mind-cleaning workers remove unnecessary information and discuss what information about US President should remain.
