Apologies for taking the thread off topic but I will just say that in my view BA has made several mis-judgements regarding Gatwick.

1) they assumed Easyjet would not be as successful as they have been. Now 80 plus aircraft based LGW compared to BAEF currently 19 (admittedly growth is planned)
2)they underestimated the growth of demand for lower cost travel and rather hoped it might go away
3)did not anticipate that Gatwick under new management would over time become more appealing to airlines and the public
4)have assumed that just cutting costs (everywhere) rather than investing would solve their problems.
