I do think not having PY is an error in judgment on AC's part. Having 2 or 3 rows of 2-2 behind the J cabin is certainly doable and I would think marketable. Once all of the XLR's are in the fleet, YYZ/YUL-YVR/SFO/LAX and YVR-EWR could be run with either XLR's or widebodies. These "premium" transcon routes could be covered exclusively by either XLR's and/or wide bodies when all of the XLR's are in the fleet. I would also expect that transatlantic service on the Max will be discontinued and replaced by XLR's.
I seriously doubt the XLR would be able to do YVR - KIX. The GC distance is just under 4300 nm. The XLR's published range is 4700 nm. It just doesn't seem enough to fight the winds on the outbound flight. Unfortunately, the ESAD on the route, or any route for that matter is difficult to find, so we will have to wait for real life results to find out.
I fully agree with the rest.
