Have a feasibility question based on having read the last few months' posts on this forum.
We are a family of four planning to travel from LA to SE Asia - trip is less than 360 and more than 331 days from now.
We have more than sufficient UA miles to upgrade from Economy to Business for all four of us on Star Alliance partner airline, and I think I understand the mechanics having read this forum and the various airline sites (and we have a travel agent), and EVA seems the best bet (vs. Asiana, ANA or Singapore).
My question is how realistic is it for us to be able to actually use the miles? Getting a very pessimistic vibes from this board on SAUA redemption and trying to reality check whether we will need to suck it up and pay cash.
