Scotland is getting its second AC Hotel. Thie first one, located in Inverness, opened in late 2022. The new AC Hotel in Glasgow is currently taking reservations for check-ins beginning Dec. 4, 2023.

The AC Hotel Glasgow is part of a mixed-use project called Love Loan. A developer is re-developing most of a city block that had included abandoned buildings and vacant land, despite being kitty corner from George Square. The project involves a combination of new construction and restoration of "listed" (architecturally or historically significant) buildings. The name "Love Loan" comes from a narrow street that used be on the site, and is coming back as part of the project.

I had planned to stay the Marriott Glasgow in 2024. Now I have a reservation at the AC Hotel, even though the AC Hotel costs more and presumably will only provide the stingy Courtyard-Moxy-AC Hotel elite benefits. I've never been to Glasgow, but the AC Hotel seems to have a much more central location, with Queen Street Station and a Glasgow Airport Express bus stop just a short walk away.
