My interrupted trip was a single 3-leg United award ticket from Europe, and they never got me to my final destination, nor even could with zero alternate seats, so I should be due the 600Euros compensation - which at least pays toward the new ticket I had to buy out of pocket. I landed inbound from Europe with a stopover in EWR, and my last flight leg home from EWR was cancelled, with zero availability to rebook any seat within 3 days. I spent about 2-3 hours on hold with United and never got an agent. I got lucky on my own and landed a lone Jetblue seat that popped up to get me near home at least.
In any case, I so far got no such email offering any miles. I'm wondering if I should proactively request the mileage compensation offer in a few days once things hopefully calm down after the holiday weekend.
Completely separate. But I would ask for EU compensation first before taking the 30K mileage offer.
