Ah, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong - I'm sad to leave, but I know I will be back. Even though there isn't a free breakfast, the positioning of this hotel on top of one of the most beautiful cities is truly one-of-a-kind, and the staff goes so far to make stays personalized that I can't help but get emotional.
I'll never forget this stay - here are my pros, cons, and photos:
Note: I have been eating too much, so I skipped breakfast - it sounded like it would be around 50 USD or so. The next time I stay here, I'll try it.
Pros:
- Upgraded from a base room to an absolutely stunning Deluxe Victoria Harbour View Suite - earlier upgrade had shown Sea View Deluxe Suite, but this changed to the Victoria Harbour view the morning of arrival
- The views are stunning and must be seen in person - moving between clouds and sun and walking in literally above the clouds was striking
- The suite is tasteful and comfortable with lots of wood and sophisticated design elements - all of the furniture is comfortable
- The bed is quite comfortable - the mattress is firm but in a just-right way, covers are plush but not too hot, and pillows are large with two plush and two more supportive
- Shower pressure from the rainfall head was great - close to perfect with plenty of water flow without being a pressure washer
- Turndown service done around 9 PM - but the attendant, Ying, was so friendly - she kept giggling and it was contagious - I was sitting at the desk and she brought me slippers
- The service from the Guest Relations team is paramount - Adriana, Emily, Moomi, Motey, and Best really went out of their way to make me feel special
- Emily reached out via email and asked if I had any special photos
- They created beautiful hand drawn artwork around the photos I sent to create pieces to celebrate my love for travel and my excitement for my 311th Marriott
- On top of that, there was a large and deliciously moist chocolate sheet cake and some assorted dark chocolates of various origins
- There was also a previous stuffed lion
- In room check-in from Adriana and Moomi was lovely with a photo shoot of the amazing view
- Moomi gave me a 2nd lion with my name and 311 embroidered in the ribbon along with a Polaroid of the photo shoot we had the day before
- Discussed late checkout - I told them my ferry was at 2:30 PM, and they suggested a 1 PM late checkout
- The connection to Elements Mall and Kowloon Station is so lovely - I made it all the way to Fiata Pizza in Central via Hong Kong Station, IFC Mall, Central Market, and the Central Mid-Levels Escalator without getting wet during the rain
- TVs have Internet TV OS with YouTube
Cons:
- No included Elite breakfast due to the brand (oh, well, I'll get just a tad skinnier)
I loved the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and look forward to returning in the hopefully near future.
