I know this may not be an Air Canada question, but this is my home forum full of experts and this was an Aeroplan ticket.

Situation:

Aeroplan ticket
YYZ - SFO (AIR CANADA)
SFO - SYD (UNITED)

Fiji Airways Revenue ticket, separate booking
SYD - NAN

YYZ - SFO gets delayed, miss connection in SFO, united rebooks on flight next day, 24 hours later.

All day monitoring bags with air tags, we see they are not moving and flight is getting closer, check at lounge, they tell us bags are not tagged to new ticket. They say they fixed it, check at gate and they say they are getting them on the plane. Flight attendant looks into it, only one bag has made it, says will have to file a claim.

We were extremely proactive, doing everything we could to get bags on plane, agents all assured us they would, alas one did not.

Given this is 100% United's fault, and we tried to help them along with way with air tag tracking, do you think there is any chance we can get them to get the bag to Fiji? Fiji Airways is not a partner.

I'm pretty upset as you can imagine, and while all logical sense would say they messed up and should fix it, but I have that bad feeling they will say there only responsibility is to get the bag to SYD.

Any thoughts? Concierge can probably not doing anything about this I would imagine? I'm currently on long hold with United baggage.
