I booked a flight with Ultimate Rewards points. I made a date flight change where I paid the fare difference with my card. Then I changed the ticket again and the new price was less. They told me that I'll "forfeit the value" that I previously paid in order to change the ticket to a date with a lesser price. So I'm wondering is this normal? Is this legal? I've never heard of forfeiting the value that you paid for a flight before during a flight change. I've never dealt with Chase Travel before and have never booked through a travel agency before. I was considering possibly disputing through the Chase the original fare difference paid.. and disputing the "forfeited value." Would this work or fail? It's possible I may need to change the date again (there's no change fee with the airline or with Chase Travel.. just fare difference).. but likely the price would be higher next time I need to change it.. I don't think consumers should just "lose" the value of the ticket that they paid with card. I'm wondering if Chase Travel's practice is legal and / or normal?
