I reduce my domestic travel to the minimum and when I do end up flying AC, I keep my expectation to the minimum. I am based in Toronto so VIA gets most of my business to Ottawa and Montreal, even Halifax. I gave up on FF programs in exchange for good quality J/F flights, although I have no problem maintaining *G and equivalent in one if not two alliances and still get some values from points.
