The only reason a A380 cannot do LHR - YYZ is that terminal 3 bizarrely has no A380 gate, while terminal 1 has 1 for the Emirates daily service.
Possibly, the closing of the BA lounge 3 or 4 years ago when a chap called Tony ran the concession and lost it to Premium Plaza. It started there, briefly went back to a refurbished BA lounge and is now back in the Premium Plaza (don't start me) in a segregated area of the main lounge with poor food and poor beer. (Two on draft - lager or lager) Surev - Chicago may have 5 million more people than Toronto, but the same number of flights. I accept Toronto is low yield as witnessed by the disappearance of First in late 2019 (we do have the occasional treat of FLUB) I'm unsure whether to be insulted as a (honorary) Torontonian or bemused. It could merely be that with NY having many flights a day allows people to choose to fly AB or not. Montreal has no choice with one flight a day, and Toronto with two flights PROBABLY means that the surviving BA flight couldn't handle switches. I'm unclear whether the AB A330 has PE. If it doesn't, then it makes sense to pick the route which has the most PE over two airports and many aircraft to cope with First and PE PAXs who need their cabin and have to be accomodated.
Mythed Low Status of Torrronnnah. (local pronounciation)
The only way Toronto is low yield (in J) is if those full J cabins I'm always in are filled with people (like me) who buy their tickets ex-UK or India because purchasing ex-YYZ prices look very profitable to me. BA should be offering a lower price than AC does to LHR as AC is pretty well guaranteed a modern J seat while BA generally is now back to old CW even if you start out when booking with CS aircraft. But AC and BA are totally in lockstep with their very high business class fares to London. But to go back to Air Belgium, YYZ had them for a period pre Covid. I was always on the flight that used BA metal but I talked to a few people who were on them and said Air Belgium were actually quite good
