My flight (BA8721 - Glasgow to London City) was cancelled on 12 June and subsequently rebooked on to the BA1495 (Glasgow to Heathrow) (delayed for 4 hours). I've been trying to make a claim on my travel insurance however BA have only advised the cancellation and delay were for "operational reasons". I completed the online form on the webpage which BA provide confirmation of cancellation.

Is there any way of getting more information from BA about this catch all phrase? The insurer has asked for more information to assess the claim. I have also submitted an EU claim for the cancellation and delay so perhaps it's just a case of waiting for BA's reply as to whether or not they will approve the claim?

I'd asked at the time and someone kindly advised the flight was cancelled due to weather the night before meaning the aircraft operating the BA8721 wasn't able to get to Glasgow.
