I'm looking into the SYW card and I had a couple questions for you veterans. Maybe these have been answered already; I searched the thread, but I might have missed it.
1. I saw that there was a promotion earlier in 2023 where you could get 10% off Raise.com
- Is this something that you think might happen again? Has it happened before?
- I think there is a difference between "normal" Raise.com and the portal where you go to redeem points for gift cards? (Let me know if that's wrong.) Which version of Raise.com does the 10% promotion apply to?
- Does Raise.com count as online shopping for the online shopping offers?
2. Has anyone tried buying Aldi gift cards (in-store at Aldi) to meet the GGR offer requirement? If so, did that work (or not work)?
3. If I get this card, do you have any advice for what I should do early on in order to maximize my chance of getting good offers?
4. I might try adding one or two authorized users to meet some of the higher spend requirements. Has anyone tried this? Has it caused you any trouble?
I have done the 10% off raise several times. One time the card(s) I bought were no good and the process to finally get a refund was laborious. But I did eventually get my $ back. But, yeah, the other purchases worked fine. The offer comes and goes. Worse case, you can always use your SYW points to buy discounted cards so that is pretty rad. If I remember correctly, a purchase at raise with your SYW card counts as online spend and counts as 2% back.
