Back in January this year we were wringing our hands about how to afford to return to Japan to see and spend time with MrLapLap’s father. The indirect flights we usually take were more expensive than direct flights used to be. I then found BA flights at around £1,000. But by the time you added the baggage (let alone the chance to sit together as a family or the opportunity to sit at a window) the cost ended up being really no different than taking what you will think of as a major carrier; JAL.
We chose JAL.

BA on the LON-TYO flights offers 17inch wide seats, 31inch pitch, likelihood of a massive box taking up your leg space.

The question is, not whether you would choose Zip Air over JAL or ANA, but whether you would choose Zip Air over BA.
I’ve see Zip Air’s food offerings and how they are priced - AND that you can buy several, you are not limited to two meals over a long long haul journey.
Preload movies onto a tablet or have your leg room obstructed?
For those of us who fly economy, the case for Zip Air is VERY compelling.
