The 12 mins late departure was due to weather, ATC and 6 of those minutes due to the flight arriving late into MIA from LHR.

As the ramp closure was the majority reason of your delay and because if it was just a 6 min delay, you’d have no doubt made the connection, I don’t see this being in scope for any claim. Duty of care at LHR whilst you were waiting for the next VCE still applies however.
