While we're on the subject of the new lounge at the JW, allow me to share an amusing anecdote. We were there for a staycation during 2021 and witnessed something quite funny during the evening lounge service (which is - as described above - both poor in comparison to other Bonvoy lounges in HK now and disastrously poor in comparison to the JW lounge pre-Great Plague).

So, there we were, drinking heavily, and next to us was a middle-aged man on his phone having a great old time video calling someone close to him. He was using bluetooth headphones so the issue was not that the audio was polluting the lounge. Oh no. This was better. He was sat in a seat with his back to the window and because it was dark outside the window was an effective mirror showing us exactly what was on his phone screen. This, it turned out, was his middle-aged wife/mistress/girlfriend in a state of undress clumsily and somewhat amateurishly trying to titillate him.

It certainly wasn't a professional encounter, they both seemed to be enjoying the experience, and we're not easily shocked, so we filled our glasses and let them get on with it. That's the JW for you these days.
