Hilton Diamond... It was one of a kind check-in experience today at Waldorf Chicago. No upgrade was offered thru the Hilton app. 6 or 7 room categories are still available for the same dates. I asked the clerk for an upgrade during check-in. She told me *there are no rooms available for a complimentary upgrade. Some suits are available, but we will charge you for the upgrade*. I thought I saw everything during my years with Hilton: upgrades from 4th to 5th floor, declined upgrades in completely empty hotels etc. But declining the room upgrade just to try to sell it to me 20 sec later... that's new. I will definitely avoid this hotel in the future.
