Not sure if anyone collects with BBVA, but usually BBVA credit card points here, in Mexico at least, transfer at 2 to 1 from BBVA to Avíos. Has long been this way. Recently they offered a 1 for 1 promo and I bagged closed to 250k avíos which I moved via AerClub to BA. They usually do this promo once a year.

Today the promo ended and new rate is 2.6 to 1, a 30 percent devaluation on the original. If that is the case I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch my spend to another card, perhaps Marriott and focus more on hotel points. Based in Mexico, I don't see many alternatives to racking up many avíos now, especially if any future promo may only be 1.3 to 1, which is markedly less valuable than before.

To give some perspective, 260k points at the different rates.

Original 2 to 1 - 130k avíos
Promo - 260k
New rate - 100k
If new promo is 1.3 then 200k.

BBVA have done nothing but slash their offering in recent years
