I'm watching Asian routes, mainly SIN and HKG. When AF started flying HKG again a few months ago, they opted for a crazy pricing. Namely, their Y was the competition's J, and their J (often on NEV4!) the competition's F. Calling these rates crazy would be an understatement.

Checking again today, I noticed quite a price decrease for this summer J.
In August and early September, one can find discounted J again, almost pre-pandemic level on a few select dates (+25% only, instead of the new norm of +200%/+400%).

Oddly enough, they keep their crazy price point for OCT23->FEB24... my interpretation is that they might have finally hit some price sensitivity and have to compete on price again, and they start doing it for the earliest flights first.

I know I for one voted with my wallet and won't be flying AF at their 2023 rates on these routes. Lots of my colleagues are doing the same. Maybe even revenge travel found its limits, too, and they are starting to act on it...

It would be interesting to hear how the situation changes on other routes.
Speaking of HKG I’ll fly there in 2 weeks and I’ve been monitoring the prices almost daily. Indeed when I booked in late April J prices were around 6000-9000€ return (!!), now for a few days only there was even a 3000€ option which disappeared meanwhile. PE remained relatively constant, but the price jumps are crazy (today it costs 0€ to change, tomorrow 700€, then 400€, then 1700€, then 200€, then 0€ again etc). Hunting the 0€ for a better flight option from OTP to CDG. 😅
