Lately almost all flights seem to be going with Suites completely full, so there's not much recent data regarding the practice with empty Suites. I am doing MEL-SIN-LHR and back in August in J and there is only upgrade availability on the MEL-SIN leg (at Advantage level), not even waitlist for the other segments.
