Perhaps, it is based on the regions I have been visiting - though, they span 5 continents, I can see how they would be partially more English-oriented (Europe obviously, Middle East with a lean towards expats, Asia also has lots of expats). Latin America can be a bit challenging, but my Spanish is so poor that I don't even try lest I offend someone like my mother's old Spanish teacher who told her to never speak the Spanish language again due to her pronunciation. For example, I have not been to sub-Saharan Africa, but even there, I feel like I shouldn't make an assumption - their English could be better than my own!
