I've seen something similar, with Brits in San Francisco thinking they could drive to Disney in the morning and then return that night to their hotel San Francisco. I had to explain my personal best time San Jose to Orange County was 6 ¾ hours, and that didn't include getting anywhere near the Disneyland traffic mess.
