I'm on BA294 tomorrow, which is apparently the first day of of the operation of the Air Belgium wet-lease. I got an email from BA only today, and my seat assignment did not change, which would put me in economy on a biz ticket. Fortunately there were still a couple of solo seats in the forward cabin when I picked a seat. Two questions: will the food and drink onboard be catered by BA or Air Belgium? I'm really looking forward to drinking some Belgian beer in-flight. Also the biz cabin has only thirty seats - what happens if there are more bookings than seats available? Any risk of a downgrade?
I’m on the same flight tomorrow (BA294). I chatted with BA online and over the phone and they said everything would be BA (catering, etc). Based on previous wet lease reviews (PointsGuy) it looks like the bedding, etc is BA.
Seats are the hard question. Neither American nor BA could change my seats. My BA app shows “3B”, while the BA rep said I’m confirmed in “13A”, which is not a business class seat. “3B” is also not a seat listed in the configuration on Air Belgiums (AB) website. My BA record locator also did not work on the AB site (figured I would try). (* seat #s are shown as example *)
Edit: When I chatted with AA, I asked them to rebook me on a similar flight out that day (AA86) and they told me I would have to pay to fair difference. Unsure if they received the updated guidance.
Anyone else having any luck?
OMAT just posted an article as well.
