I think that contacting QR ticketing and customer service would lead to both referring back to the issuing carrier.

Other then knowing to check bookings are ok at time of ticketing so as to have no time constraints , not sure what can be done - the OP seemed to have a decent amount of time, so might have in position ( if there is such as service at the airport ) to send using a shipping company

The OP was fortunate in having other miles to use and there benng availability on other carriers

Would be good if AA was to fix the root cause
You are quite correct that there used to be (maybe still is) an issue with AA award travel booked on EY. I want to say it was about the year prior to COVID (I had booked EY apartments for a Maldives honeymoon trip that never happened due to COVID), so I remember seeing/reading about the whole fiasco back then. It is "good" in one sense to read about the issue here so that hopefully others can be made aware of this issue with AA/QR bookings and how to check. Now, how to *fix* is a different problem it seems.
