On a recent LHR-DUB, I asked for a white wine and was handed just a glass of it by the cabin crew: when I asked for the rest, he replied "oh, we don't normally hand out the bottle", but did grudgingly pass it over, now one-third full. A real ??? moment there: if you're trying to preserve stock for the rest of the cabin (which I doubt was the case), just say it - don't make stuff up!​​
