So, on Tuesday I tried my luck at the counter at GMP on my way to HND. While agent took my passport and started to work on the bp she pointed to the laminated seat map on the desk saying my seat is 7A. I pointed to the first row and asked if there is anything available there. "Sorry, no, no" was the answer, fair enough.

Once onboard, the entire first row was taken by elderly. Not complaining, simply sharing my observation. I'm not sure if they were full fare pax or if KE prioritizes row 1 for senior citizens.
