I have booked through Hilton.
Interestingly, I emailed all 4 hotels I’m staying at 48h ago to specifically ask if status would be recognised and points credited if a booking was made through AmEx FHR. Only one replied - Conrad Los Angeles.

This was part of the reply -

“ When booking through Amex Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts your diamond Hilton Honors can be added to your reservation so the team is aware of the status you maintain here at Hilton but we will not be able to grant you points on a reservation booked through Amex,”

I specifically stated that I would choose the pay hotel option.
