Hi. I haven't flown on American since around 2010 so am not up to date on any changes. Anyway I probably have to book now with them as I need to go to Tuscon from JFK. I found a flight that would work with the connection time in PHX. Here's my question - according to the info it is a 737/8Max and does not have seat back IFE. I called American and the rep wasn't sure either and then she said it appears not to offer. I have to have a tablet or IPhone and only streaming is available and I have to pay for WI-FI. I don't have a tablet or IPhone I have an Android.

Is this how American treats customers today. I was going to book First Class for my husband and myself and she said it didn't matter I still have to pay. We are not tech savvy at all and don't get this streaming business plus I would have to buy 2 tablets.

Can anyone confirm is this is true. She didn't sound too positive.
