The FAA has a page on this uptic. https://www.faa.gov/unruly

It's interesting that we're headed for 1,800 reports for 2023 when annualized, which is 25% less than 2022 but 80% higher than 2018-2020.

Interestingly the increase in unruly passenger reports matches my experience in healthcare as a physician. We're also experiencing an increase in unruly patients and families that I started to notice around 2010-2014 with a massive peak in 2021 as COVID restrictions drug on. While the current rate is lower than in 2021, similar to the aviation industry, we're still seeing issues higher than pre-covid.

Given that there are ~150 reports a month, do we really need a thread for every diversion and incident? It seems like this stuff should just be consolidated.
