Most of their options eventually get turned into firm orders. Until the 777-9 is in service I wouldn't be surprised to see the options just sit there but we could well see more A350s ordered in the not too distant future. IAG has 52 options on the A350 (16 for the -900 and 36 for the -1000) which is a good sign that'll they'll order quite a few more considering they now know how the aircraft performs in the real world.
