If you are one of a number of passengers complaining about the food, or if others from the same flight have fallen ill after eating prawns, then you could get a more considered response from the airline.

Diagnosing food poisoning and attributing it to a particular food stuff, event or meal is notoriously difficult, however convinced you might be about the source you identify for your upset.

If your claim is isolated, and you are of limited commercial importance to the carrier, then they'll brush you off before closing down correspondence. Unless they see a reason to engage with you over the issue, they won't. It's the way they work.
